Some new class ideas
Hey, these are just a few new class ideas I've had going in my head for a while. Please tell me what you think, and if you have any class ideas of your own, why not post 'em!
ROGUE:
Description:
A stealthy assasin type class. Goes around in a sort of "stealth mode" then pops up out of no where and deals beaucoup damage. Has low armor and must rely on its instict skills or dexterity to stay alive. I always thought that this was something GW was really missing - the ranger really doesn't fit into the rogue category, so hey, why not have one.
Attributes:
Assasin: Affects the damage dealt and the probably of an opponent dying or losing 50% health by certain skills
Stealth: Affects the duration of "stealth mode" and the effects of certain skills that only work in stealth mode
Instinct: Affects certain countermeasure and dodge abilities that allow rogues to survive despite their weak natural defense
*Bonus Attribute* Dexterity: Passively increases the armor bonus rogues recieve, making them harder to kill. Affects certain specific powerful skills based on defense and such.
Okay, just a warning for the next class. I already know that GW basically has no technology, so many people might find the mere concept of an "Engineer" class in GW unbelievably stupid. I know this. Yet, I'm also for some reason strangely drawn to the idea, so I'm willing to be flamed for posting it.
ENGINEER:
Description:
Basically a technology related class that uses powerful but slow weapons, like guns or hand held cannons. Can set traps such as mines, and set them off from a distance using the special skill "detonate." Unlike the armor weak rogue, the engineer would be well armored, but slow.
Attributes:
Mechanics: Affects the creation and power of engineer created robots that act like undead minions, only these don't lose health over time and instead can only be straight killed by attacks. Often times robots will have special abilities themselves, like exploding upon reaching an enemy.
Chemistry: Affects traps that don't fit into the eplosives category, such as traps that use acid or create a toxic haze around the enemy who sets it off.
Explosives: Affects traps that explode, and allows for special gernade like AoE attacks.
Gun Mastery: Passively increases the damage that the engineer deals with guns. Affects skills that use guns.
*Bonus Attribute* Technology: Passively increases the health of the engineer. Affects skills such as "detonate", which allows for the explosion of engineer traps from a distance or "gear head" which allows for engineer skills to be done much faster.
Please, feel free to say whatever you think about these ideas. If you don't like 'em, that's okay, but if you do like 'em, that's great!

if i read one more character suggestion thread i think i will scream-
Rogue - this has been suggested hundreds of times
Engineer and Profiteer- to accomodate these classes the game will have to be changed completely since at the mo the only way you get money is by killing monsters.

If someone else says rogue or ninja one more time, I will kill them myself. It doesn't take a lot to copy and paste. These are also incredibly overpowered.

Here's another idea:
Name: Political Activist
Description: Members of this class defeats enemies not with weapons and magic, but through peaceful, non-violent methods.
Weapons: Pickets, loudspeakers, guiters
Armor: T-shirt with political slogans, hippy sandles
Skills:
Turn the other check - For 60 seconds, if you are struck by a foe, he suffers shame for 20 seconds.
Hunger strike - You suffer -3 health degeneration. Nearby foes are thrown into Panic. If you die, they will be affected by Guilt for 300 seconds.
Politcal correctness - Targeted foe cannot shout for 60 seconds.
What about the children? - Create a lvl 3..18 Gwen. With in her sight no acts of violence or sexually suggestive dancing is permitted. After 60 seconds she dies and you gain 30 energy.
ACLU - For 60 seconds targeted monk receives no Divine Favor.
PETA - Targeted foe suffer -5 health degeneration. Your pet gain +5 health regeneration.
Pro-Choice - For 120 seconds, targeted foe cannot create a Gwen.
Pro-Life - Create an explosion at targeted foe's location. Foes within the blast radius suffer 500 dmg. Those who survive the blast are crippled for 300 seconds.

That's funny. Lets go the other way:
Political Conservative:
- Weapons of Mass Distraction: Summon an uber leet army whenever an enemy shows up on radar even if it's outside the aggro circle.
- No Big Government: Whenever Anet nerfs the game, you un-nerf it
- No New Taxes: Increases enemy item and goild drop rates.
- Freedom's Call: Allows you to buy all armor at a single trader anywhere on the map.
- No Border Protection Increases the size of everyone's Aggro Circle by 200%.
- Faith Based Groups For 30 seconds all primary monks in the group get an extra 10 attribute points in Divine Favor.
- No Child Left Behind Teleports one player to your location whenever they are off radar.

My Suggestion
A shapeshifter would have basic armor like a monk or some other class like the ranger but when he shifts forms he gets that new armor rating on the creature that has taken the form of and gets like 4 of there skills obviously this would be very hard to pull off but i think something that is like a druid based class would be cool, they would take the form of what ever creature they have seen so the elites skills would be Example Glint the Giant lvl 30 odd Dragon but this is only a example of what the elites would be like the other skills would be basic creatures like tundra giants and such they would have to shift back to there normal form before they go into another one, and i think it would be more of a ritual that would take a few seconds until they change into some huge creature that would scare the crap out of the other players like a siege worm from the desert just gaurding the shifters hall...or something else would be like vampire and werewolf professions something that would be very powerful but easily countered by a smiting monk or a holy dmg dealing weapon...i would like some feed back on this to see what you guys think thank you.

Haha, I love this one :-)
Here's another idea: Fear Factor Contestant. Members of this class defeat their enemies by grossing them out. While grossed out, creatures suffer -2 health degeneration. They start to vomit and suffer -5 health degeneration after 10 second of non-stop grossness.
Swallow devourer - Swallow a live devourer. Nearby foes are grossed out for 5 second.
Green slime - Remove disease or poison from targeted ally by slicking the green stuff off their health bar.
Skeeball - Eat uteri of dead animals within 30m. For every uterus you eat, nearby foes are grossed out for 3 second.
Charr-o-matic - Drop a Charr into the Charr-o-matic and blend it to just the way you like it. Remaining Charrs vomit for 10 seconds. Nearby allies gain 5..15 energy after drinking the Charrshake. Also works great on Aloes, Grawls, and Gargoyles.

Shapeshifter idea sounds awesome! That was my favorite class to play in NeverWinter Nights. Getting to transform into something new to fit the situation is always a blast. Turning into Glint or a Siege Worm would be fun, but imagine the effects of it in PvP! You could turn into any other player on the other side. I like that idea.
I also like the idea of a Profiteer. Though maybe not as a primary or secondary class, but prehaps instead as a sort of economic side class.
And LOL on both the political activist and political conservative.

Rogue, Ninjas and Samurais are different type of beeings.
Samurai: Uses a sword and is not afraid of any challenge
Ninja: Disquising himself in the shadow. Uses katanas, kunais, kodachis and shurikens. Elite traps here.
Rogue: Usually lives in the forest. Using some basic traps. Usually uses a dagger and poison attacks.

They should just make a class that glows and fires lightning out of its butt wherever it goes. It quadruple-wields weapons and is also invisible.
There you go. Now all the unimaginative people can be happy.

or, you could just add 'non adventuring' classess.
like...crafting class. take a single majour crafting class, like blacksmith, then go grind for fun and profit ^^
(and no need to mess with stuff like areas, drops and so forth, since bots can do repetitive tasks like making adggers or axes till the cows come home, and we all others can havve fun)
and add a couple of secondary skill classes, like miner and smealter, and play happy little dwarf

*Thief/Rogue
in warcraft3 u can go invis/ camouflage. Rogues can infiltrate/scout, for example mursaat areas would be useful. counter to rogues could be sentry traps that spray dyes...
Detect trap ability.
Apply poison: rogue/ranger
*Druid/Shapeshifter
animal forms
- dog
- wolf
- panther
- charr
- hawk
- drake
- griffon
*Warrior/samurai
i see dual wield more as a warrior skill.
Disarm: small chance to knock a weapon out of enemies hands. enemy has to pick up dropped weapon or equip new one.

I think that they could IMPROVE the already made chars. by coming up with new skills and such but also, I think there could be something like an Amazon, shoots faster than the ranger and has more powerful skills? MaybE?...
